Pop (Up) Art: Royal Academy & Billionaire.com reception

Britain's finest contemporary artists on show at a temporary exhibition co-hosted by Billionaire and the RA.

Having partnered with the Royal Academy as a sponsor of their forward-thinking, east-meets-west exhibition 'Encounter: the Royal Academy in Asia', on show in Singapore from September 13, Billionaire.com staged an event in London to bid farewell to the artworks from the British contingent that will appear at the show. Transforming London's premier art storage facility, Martinspeed in Vauxhall, into a warehouse-style temporary gallery for an evening, on July 5, Billionaire.com hosted almost 200 assorted tasteful types — art aficionados, figures from the luxury industry, media, finance, tailoring, fashion, and friends — in viewing outstanding works by academicians including Gillian Wearing, Grayson Perry, Jenny Saville, Tony Bevan, Tracy Emin, Tony Cragg, Michael Craig-Martin, Antony Gormley, Nigel Hall, Gary Hume and Richard Long. The art was accompanied by lashings of Bollinger, tasty Asian morsels, Oriental-influenced lemongrass-infused cocktails, and short speeches from the RA's Paul Huxley (whose work was amongst the selection shown) and Billionaire.com CEO/editor-in-chief Christian Barker.
