Jon Bon Jovi Sells NYC Duplex Overlooking Hudson River

SLIDESHOW: Peek inside Bon Jovi’s stunning downtown Manhattan apartment.

The musician just listed his West Village condo for over US$17 million.

Singer-songwriter Jon Bon Jovi may have penned hit songs such as ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ and ‘This House Is Not For Sale’ but he no longer wants to live in his downtown Manhattan apartment.

A duplex on the fourth and fifth floors of Witkoff Group’s 150 Charles Street in West Village, the space measures around 4,000 square feet. The founder and front man of rock-band Bon Jovi snapped up the spread in 2015 for almost US$13 million, city records show. He signed the contract to buy the residential unit from developer Witkoff as early as 2013, before the building was even built. It is now on the market with Corcoran Group for US$17.25 million.

The listing describes a lushly landscaped terrace, overlooking the Hudson River, as sun-drenched during the day and offering mesmerising sunsets in the evening. River views are ubiquitous from the rooms as well. There are three bedrooms upstairs, each with an en suite bath. The master bedroom faces south with open views to the Hudson River and the Freedom Tower and north onto the terrace.

There is also a ‘Great Room’ with a wall of windows and a fireplace; an open kitchen; and a large entertaining space downstairs, with a separate den that could be made into a fourth bedroom.

Bon Jovi shared the 91-unit condo with a number of A-list neighbours such as comedian Ben Stiller, model Irina Shayk, Intermix’s co-founder Haro Keledjian and Peter Morton, co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe. The co-op’s amenities include an Olympic-sized lap pool, gym, sauna and steam rooms, and children’s playroom. There is a garage under the building with direct access to the apartments.

The father of four is no stranger to luxury real-estate — prior to settling into Charles Street, he sold his Mercer Street penthouse for US$34 million in 2013. Bon Jovi also owns a riverfront mansion in Middletown and another home in East Hampton.
