With his trademark curly locks and fiery personality, Marco Pierre White is often regarded as the original celebrity chef and the culinary idol of many young, aspiring cooks out there.
White, who — back in 1994, at the age of 33 — was the youngest chef ever to be awarded three Michelin stars, subsequently shocked the culinary world when he announced that he was going to return his Michelin accolades and retire from the kitchen. Unbelievable though it may have seemed, it was a decision that he claims was not difficult at all. “Winning three stars is the most exciting journey of any chef’s life,” he says. “[But] retaining them has got to be the most boring job on earth.”
Now a restaurateur — his growing culinary empire includes Marco at Chelsea Football Club and the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill in Chester — White returned to helm the kitchen in support of a special World Gourmet Summit dinner at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
Here in Billionaire.com’s video, we got right in the thick of things to capture some exclusive — and today, rare as steak tartare — footage of the legendary chef in action.
